Album 365: Day 13 - Pretenders - Pretenders

Pretenders
Pretenders
1979

Favorite tracks: Tattooed Love Boys, Wait, Mystery Achievement
Sleeper tracks: Space Invaders, Stop Your Sobbing

Here's another tribute to my parents.  Thanks for having this album around when I was a kid.  Before I understood lyrics and figured out Chrissie Hynde likes fucking and singing about it, I was spinning this record  and wishing I was as cool as Pete Fardon (guy on left with Triumph jacket).  There are some really great songs on this album and James Honeyman-Scott's guitar work was very influential.  It's sort of a mystery to me why I liked this record.  No big-ass drum kits, no 12 minute songs.  I wouldn't have dreamed to attach myself to this record in my teens.  I think it's safe to say that if it wasn't a great album, I wouldn't still think about it today.
