It's really something special when a band makes one of their best records (all around best) during their 38th year of existence.
This was a great album and I haven't enjoyed a release from my favorite band this much since 1993.
The songs are really great. The production is pretty great. I didn't like the new mixes of 'Caravan' and 'BU2B'. I preferred the songs when they were released 2 years prior. I will say that the drum sound on the record was less than what I was expecting because of the 2 previously released songs. The toms on the record are not as loud and that's really frustrating. The guitars and bass are great and Geddy's playing holds up to any bass player in rock. He's really quite a tremendous bass player.
Lyrically, the band created a pretty decent story. It's the first album-long story and it works. What doesn't work is the novel that was written about the story. That's a complaint for another day.
