I bought this album based on a review and on seeing Phil Fisher in Modern Drummer product ads. I knew of Fishbone before this record came out but I wasn't into the ska thing.
The record is pretty good and I really liked the first 4 or 5 tracks. There are some great melodies and riffs going on. The drumming is cool but the snare gets to be a little too clangy at times. I always stopped listening after track 7. The back half of the album got really boring. I felt the same way when I listened to it this time. There is a lot of nonsense towards the back of the record. I'll be happy keeping the front songs alive and coming back to the other half in another 10 years.
