Album 365: Day 204 - John Cougar Mellencamp - Scarecrow

John Cougar Mellencamp
Scarecrow
1985

Favorite tracks: Lonely Ol' Night, Justice and Independence '85, Between A Laugh and A Tear
Sleeper tracks: Rumbleseat, R.O.C.K in the U.S.A

A pretty damn good album for 1985.  Say what you want about John Cougar What'sHisName.  He can write a good song.

I'm really finding it hard to figure out if my parents bought this record or my aunt Sue had it.  Sue was a huge MellenCougar fan but I think my parents actually got this album as well.  I remember looking forward to it because I had liked Uh-Huh so much and would drum along to it quite a bit.  By the way, Kenny Aronoff had one of the loudest snare drums in rock radio with this record.  I've seen him play in the studio and he hits super fricken hard.

It's hard to believe this album is almost 30 years old.
