I'd say that this is the best Frank Zappa album and possibly one of the best albums ever made. That'd be a fun campfire chat argument.
This was a favorite of mine through the mid to late 90s. It was the 2nd Zappa CD I purchased.
The music is really rich. Vinnie Colaiuta's drumming is perfect and this is really one of the greatest drumming albums of all time.
Except for 2 guitar solos, the album contains many examples of Xenochrony. It's a marvelous studio technique and shows how much of a genius Zappa was (as if you needed more examples).
The guitar solo in 'Watermelon...' is astounding.
