Album 365: The incomplete end

After months of attempting a feat that I knew would be difficult, I've decided to cease the Album 365 project.  Joe's Garage was the last album that fit into my house rules.

The listening wasn't nearly as hard as keeping up the blog.  My job allowed me to listen to an album a day.  However, I found myself not really caring to update the blog on a regular schedule and then I got bored with trying to find albums to listen to.  When I started, I wanted to allow my emotions and feeling determine what records I would choose; but I found myself selectively grabbing familiar records and shying away from new music.  I didn't think that was in the spirit of the project.

It was an ambitious task and I wasn't sure if I'd make it all the way to 365.  230 albums in 230 days is a pretty awesome thing.  I did enjoy remembering different details from my past.  Most of them were great and a couple of the albums stirred the less than savory thoughts about shittier times in my life.  It wasn't a cathartic experience; but it allowed me to remember points in my life from a different perspective.

Now, I am free to listen to whatever music I want!  I'm gonna go back and check out some of my favorite records...the ones from earlier in the blog.

It's fitting that I started with Rush and ended with Frank Zappa.  Everybody knows what my 2 desert island albums are.
